LAHORE, April 14: Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif will visit Skardu and Gyari sector on Tuesday to show solidarity with the families of the army men buried under a glacier in Siachin.

This was announced in a statement issued by the party here on Saturday.

Earlier, Special US Adviser on Pakistan and Afghanistan Robin Raphel called on Mr Sharif at his Raiwind residence and discussed matters of mutual interest. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and US Consul General Nina Fite were also present.

Sources said the current Afghan situation as well as various USAID projects that had recently been closed by the US also came under discussion.

They said almost 100 projects were closed for they failed to meet their target of winning hearts and minds of the people.

Now the US would be focusing on around three dozen projects to get better results, the sources said, recalling the Punjab government had also been refusing to accept foreign assistance.
