KARACHI, April 7: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah distributed lease documents to the residents of newly regularised goths and katchi abadis on Saturday.
Distributing the lease documents at a function organised by the PPP Karachi chapter in Safoora Goth, the chief minister said the decision taken to fulfil the commitment of slain PPP leader Benazir Bhutto would benefit about 3.5 million people.
Mr Shah said the government’s decision would provide permanent ownership to dwellers of old villages around the city and katchi abadis.
About 110 urban goths and six katchi abadis have been regularised by the provincial government as per directives of President Asif Ali Zardari.
