MITHI, Nov 2: A simple ceremony on Friday marked the inauguration of the Aga Khan University’s programme ‘Tawana Pakistan’ under the aegis of an NGO, the Tharparkar Rural Development Programme (TRDP).

Food is being distributed among the students of various girls’ schools under the programme.

The inaugural ceremony was held at the girls’ primary school at Bevato village in Mithi taluka.

Terming the programme important, the district co-ordination officer, Tharparkar, Moha-mmad Juman Jamro, said that the programme was likely to benefit the country’s poverty-stricken districts besides raising the enrolment of girls at the schools. The DCO stressed on the need for expanding similar programmes to the more backward districts of Sindh.
