LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday heard petitions regarding US national and double murder accused Raymond Davis, DawnNews reported.

The court directed the government to submit a response on March 14 in petitions regarding shifting Davis from Kot Lakhpat prison to Lahore Fort and the relevance and legality of the Vienna Convention.

Moreover, a contempt of court petition was also filed in the LHC against former central information secretary of the Pakistan People's Party Fauzia Wahab for issuing statements regarding the Davis case.

Hearing Rana Ilamuddin Ghazi's petition to shift Davis from Kot Lakhpat Jail to Lahore Fort, LHC Chief Justice Ejaz Chaudhry directed the government to submit a reply on March 14.

LHC Chief Justice Ejaz Chaudhry also heard a petition filed by Mohammad & Ahmad, a human rights and public interest litigation association, through counsel Mohammad Azhar Siddique, challenging the concept of diplomatic immunity as a violation of fundamental human rights.

The LHC subsequently directed the government to submit a reply in this regard on March 14.

Furthermore, another petition was filed by Rana Ilamuddin Ghazi stating that contempt of court proceedings should be initiated against Fauzia Wahab for issuing statements regarding the sub judice Davis case.
