LAHORE, Jan 22: A performing arts festival aimed at promoting interaction between children from different strata of society and highlighting their issues is scheduled from Jan 26 to 28 at Ali Auditorium, Ali Institute of Education.

The Children's Performing Art Festival is being organised by The Little Art, in collaboration with the Ali Institute of Education, Group Development and Pahchaan.

It aims to promote inclusiveness, bringing children from all segments of society to share a common stage and project the critical issues children are facing through the performing arts.

There are seven performances during the three days of its run. There are morning and evening shows and free passes are available from Ali Institute of Education, Lahore.

The festival team worked in shelter homes and organised theater workshops with homeless and marginalised children from organisations like Sheed and Pahchaan. The performances done at the workshops are presented in the festival.

The festival received an overwhelming response because of cooperation of various schools.

The schools and the plays they have produced for the festival are: “Accidental Death of an Anarchist” Written by Dario Fo, produced by Lahore Grammar School, Johar Town (Senior Branch Boys). “Wizard of C'oz” by Lahore College of Arts and Sciences (LACAS), Gulberg, “Naang Wal (The Knot)” by Lahore Grammar School, Ghalib Market (Junior School). “Gudri Kay Laal” by Beaconhouse School System, Garden Town, “Rajkumari Ka Maidaan” by the children from Sheed Society, “Mujhay Dar Lagta Hai” by children from Pahchaan, “The Little Matchstick Boy” by Lahore Grammar School, Johar Town (Junior). — Staff Reporter
