SIALKOT, April 21: Five villagers, including a woman, sustained grievous injuries on Saturday night when Indian security forces shelled Jarwaal village in Charwa sector, Sialkot working boundary.
Official sources told Dawn that Muhammad Javed, 37, Muhammad Shafiq, 25, Azhar Abbas, 30, and Muhammad Fayyaz, 60, were sitting in the courtyards in their houses when the shells hit them.
They were admitted to the Combined Military Hospital in critical condition.
The Indians on Saturday continued intensified shelling in Jarwaal village, damaging four houses, the sources confirmed.
Meanwhile, Shahida, 24, was busy in household works in the courtyard of her house when some bullets hit her. She suffered injuries and was admitted to the Sialkot CMH.
The Indian security forces continued shelling on villages in Chhumb Joriyaan (Gujrat), Bajwat, Charwa, Harpal, Sucheetgarh, Jammu, Akhnoor, Saamba and Shakargarh-Narowal sectors of the working boundary, badly disrupting the sowing of seasonal crops.
Meanwhile, Chenab Rangers foiled another major Indian attempt of fencing near the working boundary’s Jammu sector, destroying a depot of enemy’s ammunition, two defensive pillars and injuring four Indian troops seriously in retaliation.
No causality has yet been reported.
INJURED: A villager was injured on Saturday in a landmine blast in Sialkot working boundary’s Narowal sector near Nangali Doaba post.
Sources said Mukhtar Ahmad, 35, while going through fields, stepped onto a landmine which blasted. He sustained grievous injuries.
He was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital.
