TAXILA: A couple was injured in a fire caused by a gas leak in their home in Hattian, in the jurisdiction of the Hazro police station, on Thursday.
Police and rescue sources said that there was a gas leak in one of the rooms of the couple’s house. When 35-year old Safeena Bibi turned the heater on, fire engulfed the room resulting in serious burn injuries to her. Her husband Sajid, in an attempt to save his wife ran inside the room and also ended up receiving injuries.
The couple was rushed to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital from where the wife was shifted to POF hospital’s burn unit because of her critical condition.
