QUETTA: Balochistan Governor retired Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai on Saturday expressed concern over low gas pressure and unannounced gas loadshedding in Quetta and other areas of the province and directed Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) officials to solve the problem immediately.

The governor held a meeting with SSGC officials headed by General Manager Balochistan Madni Siddique and discussed the issue on Saturday, according to a press release.

“In such harsh weather, low gas pressure and unannounced load-shedding are causing immense difficulties to people,” he stated.

He said there were reports that people were using compressors to draw out gas to keep their homes warm. “Strict action should be taken against them and against those having illegal connections,” he said.

Mr Siddique assured the governor that SSGC was taking steps to solve the low gas pressure problem in Quetta and in other areas which are suffering from the problem.

The governor also had a meeting with a delegation of the Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences (BUMHS) comprising students and staff members, according to a press release.

The delegation apprised the governor of their issues and demanded that they should be resolved.

The governor in assured the delegation that the issues would be resolved.
