ISLAMABAD: Former opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah on Saturday criticised induction of unelected people into the cabinet.

“Fact is that Prime Minister Imran Khan has never recognised parliament. Now he is entering a dangerous alley due to which he will have to suffer. However removal of Asad Umar, as finance minister, has proved that the stance of opposition that the government is responsible for financial issues is correct,” Mr Shah said while talking to media persons.

He said Mr Khan received votes in the name of parliament, but he had been deceiving his voters.

When asked if Adviser to the PM on Finance Abdul Hafeez Shaikh would be able to deliver, Mr Shah said it would be difficult but he (Mr Shaikh) may deliver.

“By bringing Mr Shaikh, Imran Khan has admitted that the policies of Pakistan Peoples Party were correct,” he said.

He said that elected persons must be unhappy because of inclusion of unelected people in the cabinet.

In reply to a question, Mr Shah ruled out the possibility that Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan would join the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

“Chaudhry Nisar and Ghulam Sarwar Khan cannot remain in one party,” he added.
