QUETTA: Balochistan National Party (BNP) information secretary and MNA Agha Hassan Baloch on Sunday expressed reservations over the ongoing delimitation of constituencies.

He said his party had contacted the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) before the 2018 general elections and conveyed its reservations over the delimitation, but the ECP did nothing in this regard.

He said people in various constituencies had lodged complaints regarding partial delimitations.

“We met the district election commissioner and requested him to conduct the delimitation process in a transparent manner because there were several union councils which have a population of millions of voters,” Mr Baloch said, adding that the Baloch areas should not be neglected in the delimitation process.

He said the BNP had been striving for the rights of the people of Balochistan and would continue raising concerns and reservations of the masses.

He asked the ECP to conduct delimitations impartially in Balochistan so that the local government elections could be held in a peaceful environment.
