MINGORA: Awami National Party provincial president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said that the PTI government has no proper programme to run affairs of the country.

He was addressing a ceremony here on Tuesday. The ceremony was organised by the local chapter of ANP to mark the death anniversaries of Bacha Khan and Abdul Wali Khan.

Mr Hoti, who was chief guest on the occasion, criticised the government. He termed it a failed government in the history of the country.

ANP Swat president Sher Shah Khan, provincial spokesman Wajid Ali Khan, Ayub Khan Asharey, Rehmat Ali Khan, Ikram Khan and other leaders of the party also attended the event.

Mr Hoti said that ANP was following the policy of social reforms, peace and education set by Bacha Khan and Abdul Wali Khan. He said that the present government had no proper programme to run affairs of the state.

The ANP leader said that the PTI government, which was elected in the name of change, snatched the morsel from the mouth of poor.

“The government has no policy to address the issues of people,” he said, adding that national economy was on the verge of collapse.

He said without strong provincial units, existence of a strong and powerful state was not possible. He added that those people, who were opposing the 18th Amendment, were not sincere with the country.

Alluding to the Sahiwal incident, Mr Hoti said that government failed to protect its citizens. “It seems that a law of jungle prevails in the country.

The government machinery is limited to mere media statements,” he added.

The ANP leader said that without restoration of durable peace in Afghanistan, the dream of peaceful Pakistan could not be fulfilled.

“The peace dialogue will not be fruitful without inclusion of Afghanistan in the process,” he added.

Earlier, ANP president Swat welcomed all the participants of the event and said that the party would continue its fight for the rights of Pakhtuns.
