KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department on Tuesday informed the administrative judge of antiterrorism courts that two of the five held suspects had recorded their confessional statements before a judicial magistrate in the Chinese consulate general attack case.

A CTD investigating officer produced three of the five suspects — Ahmed Hussain, Ali Ahmed alias Hashim and Mohammad Aslam — before the judge on expiration of their police remand.

However, the IO informed the administrative judge that the remaining two suspects — Nadir Khan alias Baladi and Abdul Latif — could not be produced before him since they had been sent to prison by a judicial magistrate (Malir) after recording their confessional statements in illicit weapons cases registered at the Shah Latif Town police station.
