ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s export of services jumped 14.3 per cent to $470 million in October, from $411.3m in same period last year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday.

The proceeds from services sector have continued to grow for the past two months, edging up 2.13pc year-on-year to $1.76m in July-October. In 2017-18, the exports of services had decreased 7pc year-on-year to $5.4 billion.

During the four-month period, imports of services plunged 15.47pc to $2.85bn as against $3.38bn in 5MFY18 while the November figures showed a fall of 16.25pc year-on-year to $665m. In FY18, imports of services went up 4.88pc to $10.4bn.

The trade deficit in services dipped 49pc to $195m in October and in 4MFY19 declined 33.75pc to $1.09bn in 4MFY19, from $1.65bn in same period last year.
