Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese unite

Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese haven’t worked together on a feature film since the acclaimed film The Wolf of Wall Street. That is set to change with an adaptation of best-selling novel Killers of the Flower Moon.

The story is set in 1920s Oklahoma and revolves around the Osage Nation, who were the richest people per capita in the world after oil was discovered under their land. However, the Osage Nation were murdered one by one.

As the deaths increased, the newly created FBI investigated and unravelled a haunting conspiracy and a horrific crime that will haunt America’s history. The film is being produced by Imperative Entertainment, who confirmed the film and those involved in a statement.

Scorsese words about why he was inspired were, “When I read David Grann’s book, I immediately started seeing it – the people, the settings, the action — and I knew that I had to make it into a movie.

“I’m so excited to be working with Eric Roth and reuniting with Leo DiCaprio to bring this truly unsettling American story to the screen.”

DiCaprio is due to appear in Quentin Tarantino’s film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, while Scorsese is working on gangster drama The Irishman with Netflix.

‘Labyrinth’ sequel script completed

Director Fede Alvarez says the Labyrinth sequel has a script and is still moving forward. By the time the Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe filmmaker became officially attached to helm the project back in 2017, the follow up to Jim Henson’s Cult 1986 fantasy musical had already been in development for several years.

A Labyrinth remake was even rumoured to be in the pipeline at one point, before Guardians of the Galaxy co-screenwriter Nicole Perlman clarified that this was not the case.

The original Labyrinth was directed by Henson and starred David Bowie as Jareth, the Goblin King, a trouble-making fellow who kidnaps a teenaged Jennifer Connelly’s infant brother and places him at the centre of an elaborate labyrinth, after Connelly’s character, Sarah Williams, wishes her younger sibling away.

It’s not altogether clear yet if the Labyrinth sequel will bring back Connelly as a now-adult Sarah, much less recast the role of Jareth following Bowie’s passing. However, by the sound of it, we might be getting some insight on both matters in the foreseeable future.

McKenna Grace in third ‘Annabelle’ movie

Filming has begun, as-yet-untitled Annabelle horror movie, New Line Cinema said.

Chapter 3 in the haunted doll saga follows 2014’s Annabelle and 2017’s Annabelle: Creation. It is also part of the cinematic universe that includes 2013’s The Conjuring, 2016’s The Conjuring 2 and 2018’s The Nun.

“Determined to keep Annabelle from wreaking more havoc, demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren bring the possessed doll to the locked artefacts room in their home, placing her ‘safely’ behind sacred glass and enlisting a priest’s holy blessing,” a studio synopsis of the upcoming sequel said. “But an unholy night of horror awaits as Annabelle awakens the evil spirits in the room, who all set their sights on a new target — the Warren’s 10-year-old daughter, Judy, and her friends.”

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as the franchise’s paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in the film, which is due in theatres July 3.

The Haunting of Hill House and I, Tonya actress McKenna Grace will play Judy. Madison Iseman and Katie Sarife co-star.

Mrs Doubtfire stars reunite after 25 years

Mrs Doubtfire stars reunited ahead of the beloved film’s 25th anniversary.

Pierce Brosnan, who played Stu Dunmire in the 1993 movie, shared a photo with Lisa Jakub, Matthew Lawrence and Mara Wilson, who portrayed Lydia, Chris and Natalie Hillard as kids.

“Guess who? Today, after 25 years, I gathered around a table in the company of three beautiful young people, to talk story about a film that has touched the hearts of so many,” he wrote. Mrs Doubtfire starred late actor Robin Williams as Daniel Hillard, a recently divorced dad who dresses up as an elderly female nanny to see his children (Jakub, Lawrence, Wilson). Sally Field played Daniel’s ex-wife, Miranda Hillard.

“Sally is on tour with her new book. Robin is in heaven making the angels laugh and was spoken of with the fondest of love and sweet memories,” Brosnan said.

Mrs Doubtfire opened in theatres in November 1993. Brosnan shared a throwback photo in August 2017 of himself and Williams on the movie’s set and paid tribute to the actor in the caption.
