RAWALPINDI: A man and his two sisters were shot dead by their rivals in the limits of the Kahuta police on Sunday.

According to the initial police investigation, Khyzir Iqbal and his two sisters were participating in the funeral of Shaukat when Mohammad Ilyas and others opened fire on them.

The police said Iqbal had been booked and sent to jail in the murder case of Mr Ilyas’ son a few years ago and was later released by a court.

Police said on seeing Iqbal and his two sisters in the funeral prayer, Ilyas and his sons opened fire on them.

As a result, the two women, identified as Kulsoom and Bilquis, died on the spot while Khyzir succumbed to the injuries while being shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

The police said raids were underway to arrest the alleged killers who escaped.
