KHAR: Three girls drowned while fetching water from a pond here on Monday, officials and locals said.

They said that the incident took place in remote Sarah Shah village of Arang area of Utmankhel tehsil.

Local residents said the incident occurred when the victims were fetching water from the pond, situated outside of the village.

They said the deceased were identified as Anela, 9, Marva, 7, and Sada Bibi, 5.

Officials of the local administration along with Levies personnel also rushed to the area and launched further investigation in to the mishap. Later, the bodies were handed over to their family.
