LAHORE: The PML-N has asked the National Accountability Bureau to investigate other cases as well instead of just focusing on the Sharif family.

“PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif had made over 100 appearances before an accountability court. It appears that the NAB is only concerned with cases against the Sharif family and paying no heed to other cases,” PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb told a press conference here on Thursday.

She said the request for clubbing all the references together against the Sharif family had also been rejected. She said no corruption charge had been proved against Nawaz Sharif despite investigation by the JIT and procurement of documents from abroad.

She said the NAB was summoning only the PML-N members and it was tantamount to pre-poll rigging.

The former information minister questioned calls for placing Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz’s names on ECL while the name of Imran Khan’s blue-eyed (Zulfi Bokhari) was removed from the ECL. She said Nawaz Sharif had no connection with Evanfield Property.

“If they had any proof of they would not have disqualified him on the basis of ‘Iqama’,” she said.

Ms Aurangzeb also castigated Imran Khan for denying tickets to PTI workers. “Imran Khan has awarded tickets to turncoats and ignored his party workers.

Now he is besieged in Bani Gala by his own workers,” she said, adding his dream to become prime minister would not be fulfilled. She also criticised Khan for not respecting women.

Ms Aurangzeb said there should not be any politics on the health of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz as she needed prayers. She regretted the remarks of PPP’s Aitzaz Ahsan in this regard.
