PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government officially celebrated Eidul Fitr on Saturday with rest of the country.
The residents of cantonment areas of the province and official residential colonies also celebrated Eid with the government.
However, the post-Ramazan festival was marked in most parts of the province on Friday.
Governor Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and caretaker Chief Minister retired Justice Dost Mohammad Khan offered Eid prayers at the Governor’s House here on Saturday. The provincial secretaries were also in attendance there.
Special prayers were offered for peace, stability and security of the country and well-being of the people. The governor later exchanged Eid greetings with participants. Also, notables called on the governor at the Governor’s House and exchanged Eid greetings with him.
The largest Eid congregation in Peshawar was held on Charsadda Road, which was attended by thousands of people from across the city.
Also, capital city police officer Jamilur Rehman celebrated Eid in the Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines along with the police officials.
