THE WEEK THAT WAS

Khaani | Geo, Mondays 8.00pm

Drama at its peak. Khaani’s (Sana Javed) husband Arham (Mohammed Ali) visits Mir Hadi (Feroz Khan) in jail and gives him a torturous piece of his mind.

The court scene was pretty powerful and Feroze Khan calls the shots as Hadi (in a prayer cap) by requesting the judge for permission to speak before the proceedings begin. He owns up to his crime and demands the severest punishment — to be hanged till death. Not being able to come to terms with reality, Hadi’s father Mir Shah (Mehmood Aslam) feigns a heart attack to buy some time and the court is adjourned for the time being. Mir Shah is still chalking out a plan to save Hadi from the gallows when wife Sitara (Saman Ansari) announces that she has lost all faith in him for not being able to save their son.

Will Khaani eventually pardon Mir Hadi is a million dollar question. Until the next episode then.

What To Watch Out For

Visaal | ARY, Wednesdays 8.00pm

Karma strikes back for hoodlum Akram (Zahid Ahmed) as his mighty evil plan to marry Pari (Hania Amir) backfires, and he ends up with the wrong girl. He thought he was getting married to Pari who he saw at Mufti Ghufran’s (Firdaus Jamal) house and assumed she was his daughter. Instead, he ends up with Pari’s bestie and Mufti Ghufran’s daughter Naheed (Saboor Ali). Karma also strikes back for Naheed for setting up the treacherous trap to defame poor Pari because she is not happy being married to Akram.

As both Naheed and Akram come to terms with their respective shocks, Pari’s father is stabbed and a desperate Pari runs to Akram to beg for help. Now she is staying in Akram’s house as Naheed comforts her and a stunned Akram gets on with some more scheming.
