KARACHI: Former first-class player Iqbal Imam was on Tuesday named to lead four-member national selection committee of the Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association (PDCA).

According to PDCA honorary secretary Amiruddin Ansari, the committee — which also includes two other former first-class cricketers in Sabih Azhar, who is also on the PDCA coaching panel and Mohammad Javed along with PCB first-class umpire Javed Ashraf — was announced after the approval of PDCA president and former Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif.

Iqbal, who is on PCB pay role as head coach of Hyderabad region, has been associated with the PDCA as a regional coach during national tournaments and was recently appointed on the PDCA board of directors.

The new selection panel will pick the Pakistan squad for the tour of England in July this year and the four-nation competition in Pakistan in November.
