LAHORE: National champions Wapda had taken a 2-0 lead against Navy in the seven-match volleyball series which started in Rajanpur on Monday night, according to a press release issued by the Pakistan Volleyball Federation on Tuesday.
In Rajanpur, Wapda won the first match with scores of 21-25, 25-22, 27-25, 25-20 at the Government Boys High School ground.
At close of play, Chairman District Council Sardar Ahmed Dereshak announced a cash prize of Rs100,000 for the players of both teams.
Then in Muzaffargarh, Wapda trounced Navy with scores of 25-20, 25-20, 18-25, 15-13 on Tuesday.
After the match, Chief Guest President Punjab Volleyball Association and Regional Police Officer Dera Ghazi Khan Shoail Habib Tajek announced Rs60,000 for the Wapda team and Rs40,000 for the Navy team.
The series is being organised by PVF in collaboration with its Punjab chapter to develop and promote the game in rural areas.
