MANSEHRA/PARACHINAR: Three people were killed in Batara union council of Kolai Palas district and two in Gandow area of central Kurram Agency in the name of ‘honour’ on Thursday.

In Kolai Palas district, police said that Imam Shah first killed one Aurangzeb in local fields and then went to his home and opened fire at his sister-in-law, but in the meantime his mother came to rescue her. Both sustained bullet wounds and died on the spot.

The police said that Shah was suspicious of his sister-in-law’s illicit relations with Aurangzeb. Batara police have lodged an FIR of the incident.

Also in the day, one Kifayatullah allegedly killed Saeed Khan in Dubair area of Lower Kohistan over a land dispute. Police have registered an FIR of the case.

In Parachinar, a couple was gunned down for ‘honour’ in Gandow area of central Kurram Agency.

According to sources, a girl of Gandow locality had eloped with on Mohammad Nabi some four months ago, which triggered a clash between both the families. However, the family members of both sides sent a message to the couple that they had resolved the issue and now they could return, they said.

The sources added that as soon as the couple reached Gandaw bazaar and disembarked from the vehicle the family members shot dead both Mohammad Nabi and the girl. However, the administration is yet to make any arrest in this case.

According to political administration officials, raids are being conducted in different places to arrest the alleged killers.
