ISLAMABAD: Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Wednesday announced that the biometric system will be introduced at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) to ensure attendance of the staff.

Moreover, he also announced that the long standing issues, such as out of order central air conditioning system, will also be addressed during the current year.

The minister was addressing at the inaugural ceremony of the medical ward which has been renovated. He said that unfortunately the central air conditioning system could not be installed in the hospital.

“Moreover, unavailability of incinerator is also a huge issue which needs to be addressed. All the development work was stopped in the hospital because hospital was attached with Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University. However, we are hoping that the bill, which suggests separation of hospital from the university, will be passed from Senate next week,” he said.

Dr Chaudhry said that currently there were 103 ventilators in the hospital and a new pathology ward had been established. “I have decided to install the biometric system in the hospital to ensure attendance of employees,” he said.
