LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Monday granted bail to two suspects allegedly involved in killing a police constable and injuring another by ramming their speeding car into a picket in Defence area.

The police said that after the suspects Tahir Munir and Mustafa knocked down the two policemen on New Year night, constable Mustansar Hussain died on the spot while Qasim was shifted to hospital in critical condition.

Advocate Ali Zia Bajwa arguing on behalf of the suspects said his clients had nothing to do with the incident and that the police arrested them without any cogent evidence. He asked the court to grant bail to both the suspects.

The court granted bail to the suspects and directed them to furnish surety bonds worth Rs100,000 each.
