Saeed Ghani on Wednesday said that he would "try his best to serve Karachi" after being nominated as president of PPP's Karachi division.

In a Twitter post, Ghani thanked PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and party leaders Nisar Khuro and Faryal Talpur for the appointment.

Also on Wednesday, Javed Nagori was appointed general secretary of the Karachi division.

The appointments were made by the PPP chairman as he presided over a meeting of office-bearers of the party's Karachi Division, a notification issued from the party's media cell said.

According to the notification, during the meeting, the PPP chairman was briefed on the "political and organisational situation in Karachi division."

The pace of development in the city being carried out by Sindh government was also discussed, the notification said.
