LANDI KOTAL: Unidentified gunmen killed a Khasadar in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency on Sunday evening.

Officials of the political administration said that Khasadar Abdul Shakoor, a resident of Malakabad, was on his way back after performing his official duties when gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on him near the railway track.

The officials said that the victim was immediately rushed to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The attackers managed to flee after the incident.

The killing of the Khasadar took place despite a ban on motorcycle riding which has been in place since long.

The local administration registered a case against the unidentified culprits and started investigations. It also conducted a search operation in the nearby localities, but no arrest was reported.

No one had claimed responsibility for the killing till filing of the news report.
