Karachi Kings win on DLS method

Published February 17, 2017

In the 10th fixture of the second edition of Pakistan Super League, which was being played between Islamabad United and Karachi Kings, rain had been a major player, with the Kings winning the match after the umpires called the game off due to lack of time.

The score and overs had already been reduced significantly due to the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method. This is the first win for the Kings in the current PSL season.

It was rain that contributed to the delay in start of the match, and reduced it to 18-overs per innings. Following the first spell of rain, Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to field.

The United were 34 for the loss of two wickets in 7.1 overs, when the downpour halted the match once again.

As it started a while later, the match was reduced to only 13 overs per side to compensate the time loss due to the delay caused by rain.

It was Imad Wasim who made the early inroads by taking two wickets, leaving them 2-10 in just three overs.

Misbah and Dwayne Smith did steady the ship for Islamabad but not before rain again decided to make an appearance.
