KARACHI: A sessions court sentenced on Wednesday a woman to life imprisonment and her male accomplice to 14 years in a kidnapping and rape case.

The court found Hasina guilty of abducting a 20-year-old woman in 2013 in Jamshed Quarters and M. Ishaq was held accountable for subjecting the captive to sexual assault.

The additional district and sessions judge (East), Abdul Karim Ansari, read out the conviction order after recording evidence of the witnesses and concluding arguments from both sides. The court also imposed a fine of Rs50,000 each and in case of non-payment the convicts would have to undergo an additional six-month imprisonment.
