RAWALPINDI: Recounting successes of the army, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday appreciated the participation of Multan Corps’ troops in the ongoing counterterrorism operations in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Addressing the troops during his visit to the elite Strike Corps at Multan Garrison, the COAS said: “Our experience of counterterrorism operations has made us battle-hardened which is a valued add-on for operational preparedness.”

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the military’s media affairs wing, Multan Corps Commander Lt Gen Sarfraz Sattar briefed Gen Bajwa on the operational and administrative preparations of the corps.

The COAS especially praised the troops for concurrently keeping themselves fully trained and prepared to thwart challenges of conventional war.

He said soldiers of the Pakistan Army were the best in the world.

“[I] am proud to be COAS of a brave and highly professional army,” he said.

The army chief directed officers and soldiers to keep themselves fully trained to defeat all types of threats.

He laid a wreath at the martyrs’ monument and offered Fateha.

Earlier on his arrival, the COAS was received by the corps commander.
