PESHAWAR: The Local Government and Rural Development Department has notified remuneration and allowances for the nazims and members of village/neighbourhood councils with retrospective effect from Sept 1, 2015.

According to an official statement issued here on Tuesday, a nazim of village/neighbourhood council will be paid monthly honoraria of Rs10,000, telephone charges of Rs2,000 and entertainment allowance Rs2,000 for 2015-16.

Similarly, a naib nazim of village/neighbourhood council will be given Rs7,000 and each member Rs200/day/session as honoraria.

The telephone charges are applicable both to official landline as well as mobile phone as claimed by the nazim even simultaneously on provision of the bill. The councillors are entitled to per diem against the attendance in register maintained by the respective secretary.
