LAKKI MARWAT: A man was killed over a blood feud in Wanda Jogi village in Darra Pezu town here, police said on Monday.

They said that the accused persons, including Zahid Khan and Inamullah, residents of Tank district, shot and killed Aziz Khan and escaped. “The deceased Aziz Khan also belonged to Tank, who was killed over of a blood feud,” they maintained.

The police said that investigation had been started into the murder after registration of case against the killers under relevant sections of law.

ARRESTED: Police claimed to have booked over a dozen people on charges of festive firing on the occasion of weddings in the district.

An official told journalists of Monday that DPO Khalid Hamdani had issued instructions to SHOs to curb the menace of firing in the air in the limits of their respective police stations.

The official said the cops had launched actions in the limits of Lakki, Naurang, Dadiwala, Ghaznikhel and Pezu police stations following information about the festive firing.

The official said the police registered cases against over a dozen men, including grooms and their relatives, for involvement in making festive firing in marriage and engagement parties.

Meanwhile, police also arrested nine proclaimed offenders and 27 suspects during a special campaign in parts of the district. “Backed by commandos of Anti-Terrorist Squad and Elite Force the law enforcers destroyed the hideouts of criminals’ gangs,” said the official.

He said the arrested outlaws were wanted by police in murder, attempted murder and other cases of heinous nature. “Police also seized a huge cache of illicit weapons and narcotics from anti-social elements and registered cases against them in the concerned police stations,” the official maintained.
