ISLAMABAD: A homicide unit has been established under the police’s investigation wing to investigate manslaughter cases.
The new unit, consisting of five teams was inaugurated on Wednesday. It will work under the SP investigation wing.
According to sources, five vehicles have been provided to the new unit and each team will consist of an inspector, and sub-inspector, an assistant sub-inspector and three constables.
The teams will be trained locally and in other countries in solving various kinds of murders and will also be trained in handling modern and sophisticated equipment and techniques for investigating killings. The SP investigation will be responsible for ensuring the homicide unit teams are well trained.
