Fake medicines

Published August 30, 2016

DEALERS in fake medicines have treatment for every disease. Thus they propagate 100pc cure, with a a three- to- seven-day course.

They maintain their business by putting out advertisements in low-grade newspapers and are clever enough not advertise their address or drugs’ names. Instead, they use mobile numbers for home delivery. Their prescriptions cost about Rs1,500 to Rs2,500.

The medicines delivered at home do not contain any guidelines about dosage etc. They do it verbally when they deliver the medicines at home . They easily fool people, specially the poor and the uneducated who cannot afford expensive treatment.

If you are bald headed, you are asked to use their prescription for a weak, to have hair grown up on your head. If your skin colour is dark black , just use a three- day course and your skin will get fairer. If your body is weak , just use a seven- day course and you will have a healthy body.

If your are fat, just use a five-day course and your body will get slim. When I met a doctor at the JPMC to know about the truth, he said it’s all fake, and will cause more harm than cure.

He said such drugs would disturb our hormone system and worsen skin infection.According to him, treatment of such diseases takes some time, about six months to one year.

In developed countries people require an NOC from the government for opening even a juice shop, while here in Pakistan drug dealers are playing with the lives of people The drug regulatory authority must take action against dealers of fake medicines and fake doctors who create health problems for people.
