ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) accelerates preparations for four back-to-back international events to be held in the city at Mushaf Squash Complex from September to December.

Talking to APP, PSF Secretary, Group Captain Amir Nawaz, said international players will be seen in the action during the event along with top Pakistani players.

“The Professional Squash Association (PSA) had granted Pakistan four international tournaments of $25,000,” Nawaz informed.

"The tournaments are not declared open currently, but once they open the international players would be able to send their entries for participation."

Nawaz is optimistic that the PSA will grant Pakistan a $50,000 tournament in 2017.

Junior squash team to participate in World Junior Individual and Team Squash Championship

The secretary further added that Pakistan's junior squash team will participate in World Junior Individual and Team Squash Championship in Poland. The 10-day-long tournament commences from August 6.

“The training camp for the players participating in the championship is underway here at Mushaf Squash Complex. It will close on July 3 and will resume after Eid,” he said.

The players in the camp are Israr Ahmed, Abbas Shauqat, Ehsan Ayaz, Kashif Asif, and Mehran Javed.

The team will depart for Poland on August 6.

“The players have been working very hard in the camp and hopefully they will return with the good results,” he said.
