LAKKI MARWAT: A married woman was found dead in Daulat Mir Lawangkhel village here.

Ghaznikhel police officials on Tuesday quoted the husband of the deceased woman as saying that his wife along with her three-month-old baby girl had left home for Karachi to meet her parents. “I advised her to postpone the trip until after Eidul Fitr, but she insisted and left home without telling anyone,” he told police.

The man said he searched for her wife and daughter and later informed police when he found no clue about them. “Next day, we found her body bearing severe torture marks in the fields near Daulat Mir Lawangkhel,” he told police, saying, however, that the child was safe lying near the woman’s body.

He claimed that gold ornaments her wife was wearing were also missing. Police registered a case and began investigation.

Meanwhile, the police claimed to have arrested three proclaimed offenders during actions in Naurang town.

An official said a police party captured a criminal identified as Raza Khan during a patrol in Manzar Faqeer village. He said the arrested outlaw was wanted by police in murder case.

Another police party rounded up two proclaimed offenders, Javed and Habibullah, who were wanted by police in cases of robbery and theft, said the official, adding the arrested men belonged to Tap Takhtikhel village, bordering the frontier tribal region.
