LAHORE: Renowned TV personality Muhammad Naseer, more popularly known as Naseer Bhai, and considered to be an encyclopedia of Indian and Pakistani film songs, passed away here on Sunday.

Naseer Bhai used to appear on different programmes of private TV channels. He had a sound knowledge of the film songs from the 1950s up to 1980s and he used to accept the challenge from the audience and viewers, giving replies with accurate information on the composition of songs, lyricists, singers and film titles and the years of their release.

According to close circles of Naseer, he was a recordist at a music shop in the Walled City before being discovered by anchorperson Aftab Iqbal and getting popularity.

Naseer was suffering from chronic diseases such as hepatitis C and lever problems. He was issueless as his wife had passed away earlier.
