LARKANA: Eminent Sin­dhi language poet, Ayaz Jani, died here late on Sunday evening at the age of 49. He has left six sons and a daughter.

Jani was known for his command in waee and ghazal which was widely acknowledged and also appreciated by great writer, poet and intellectual Shaikh Ayaz in his book Deaa deaa lat asan. Jani has one anthology Darawar dil jee tanhaee to his credit.

Born in Khair Mohammed Arja village, Jani got his primary education in Badah, Kotri and Naudero. He graduated from the Govt Degree College, Larkana and he did his M.A. in Sindhi literature from the Shah Abdul Latif University. He also remained associated with Sindhi magazines Saras, Lahroon and Hamricho.

Literary figures have described his death as a great loss to Sindhi literature as he was a leading poet of young generation.
