RAWALPINDI: Another 27 illegal Pakistani immigrants deported by the Turkish authorities arrived at Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) on Thursday.

After questioning, all the deportees were shifted to the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) anti-human trafficking cell for further investigation.

An FIA official told Dawn they had travelled to Turkey illegally through a land route, in order to get to Europe. The deportees were caught by law enforcement agencies and sent to detention camps.

He said the Pakistanis who had been deported had gone to Turkey via Balochistan and Iran.

Upon reaching BBIA, the deported Pakistanis were taken into FIA custody, and moved to the anti-human trafficking cell after around four hours of questioning.

Earlier, 38 Pakistanis were deported by Greek authorities and arrived at BBIA before being shifted to the FIA’s anti-human trafficking cell.
