Biometric blunders

Published February 10, 2016

APROPOS the letter ‘Biometric blunders’ (Jan 24), it can be said that it gives voice to feelings of thousands of senior citizens. I am 80 years old. My thumbprint does not register. Although Nadra issued me a lifelong NIC, yet other institutions such as Net companies do not accept this because my thumbprint does not match. Now, another misery awaits me as I am a pensioner of the National Bank of Pakistan. From February or March a new scheme is being launched. “Put your thumbprint and get your pension”.

Now, it is the duty either of Nadra or the ministry of internal affairs to adjust senior citizens like me in the forthcoming scheme.
