KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has raised duty drawback rates on export of hosiery and woven garments. The rates are worked out by the Input-Output Co-efficient Organisation of the customs.

Through a notification, FBR made amendments in its earlier notification 209(I)/2009, dated March 5, 2009.

The duty drawback rate of white blended polyester or cotton garments has revised from 0.35 per cent fob value to 0.82pc, an increase of 134pc.

Similarly, the rate of dyed blended polyester or cotton garments has revised from 0.67pc fob value to 1.21pc, up by 81pc. White 100pc cotton garments rate revised from 0.43pc fob value to 0.81pc (88pc higher). And of dyed 100pc cotton garments from 0.9pc fob value to 1.14pc, a rise of 27pc.

The new rates will be effective from October 6, 2015, according to the notification.

The exporters of hosiery products had been demanding the upward revision in duty drawback rates because the rates of many products have gone up.

Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association (PHMA) Chief Coordinator Muhammad Jawed Bilwani supported the move.
