KARACHI: Anam Amin’s magical display with the ball provided the winning touch as Pakistan beat Bangladesh by six wickets in the 2nd ODI to clinch the two-match series 2-0 at the Southend Club Ground in Karachi on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old left-arm spinner, Anam, ended with figures of 10-5-7-4, as Pakistan restricted Bangladesh to a meager 123 after the tourists elected to bat first.

Anam found great support in Asmavia Iqbal, who returned figures of 7-1-28-3, and made sure the attack remained lethal from both ends of the wicket.

Medium pacer Sania Khan chipped in by claiming Bangladesh skipper Salma Khatun’s crucial wicket.

Only Ayasha Rahman (39), Nigar Sultana (30)* and Roti Moni (28), managed to get into double figures in the Bangladesh batting line up.

When Pakistan came into bat, it was Bismah Maroof with her superior form with the bat all over again.

Bismah scored 41 before being dismissed by leg spinner Rumana Ahmed. Her innings included seven fours.

Opener Marina Iqbal gave Pakistan a decent start with a solid 31 before she was run out by the Bangladesh skipper. Pakistan slummed to 109-4 in their chase when Nain Abidi was stumped at 22.

With four wickets down, captain Sana Mir and Aliya Riaz picked up the pace a bit and took Pakistan home with 11.3 overs to spare.

Nahida Akter, by claiming two wickets, was the most successful Bangladesh bowler.

Anam Amin was adjudged player of the match for her stunning effort with the ball which gave Pakistan the ODI series after the hosts also claimed the T20 series 2-0.
