KOHAT: The police on Friday registered cases against heads of 10 schools for poor security arrangements. Those booked also included people who rented houses without submitting bio-data of the tenants.

The police filed cases against the heads of Khawas Khan Public School, Government Primary School Marai, Ghazi Public School Ambar Banda, Government Girls Primary School Mohallah Waazan and Government Primary School Tehsil Gate. Similarly, cases were registered against owners of three houses for not providing details of the occupants.

Two Afghan refugees were also arrested for entering Pakistan without valid traveling documents.

HASHISH SEIZED: The police foiled an attempt of smuggling drugs from Orakzai to Punjab and recovered a huge quantity of hashish from a truck loaded with coal at Marai checkpost here.

The Ustarzai police had established a barricade on Marai-Orakzai Agency border and were checking vehicles coming from the tribal areas. The police stopped a truck and on search recovered 122 kilograms of hashish packed in polythene bags.

The police arrested driver Musharaf Ali and helper Sajjad Ali, residents of Bar Mohammad Khel area of lower Orakzai Agency. A case was registered against them.

THIEVES HELD: The police arrested two motorcycle thieves in KDA Town on Friday.

The police raided an empty house in phase-II of KDA Town in sector D-3 and arrested Nauman, first year student of a private college, and Mohammad Akhtar, and recovered three motorcycles from them.

SHO of the KDA police station told journalists that the thieves used to snatch motorcycles from people and park them in houses in KDA Town for sometime before selling them in other districts.

A case was registered against them.
