RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) launched the Cool & Cool Presents Haier Q8 Twenty20 Cup 2015-16 here at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Eight teams will contest in the qualifying round to be played from Sept 1 to 5. The winners of the qualifying round semi-finals will make it to the main round that will feature twelve teams.

The main round of tournament begins on Sept 8. The semi-finals will be played on Sept 14 while the final will take place on Sept 15.

Speaking at the occasion of the logo unveiling ceremony, PCB Director Domestic Cricket Operations, Intikhab Alam thanked all the team sponsors for supporting the teams and assuring them competitive cricket.

Haier Pakistan is the title sponsor of the event. The tournament logo was unveiled by Rao Umar Hashim Khan, Group Director TransGroup, Shakeel Sheikh and Alam.

The teams playing the qualifying round includes Quetta, Larkana, Lahore (B) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (Group ‘A’) while Group ‘B’ comprises Karachi (B), Fata, Dera Murad Jamali and Bahawalpur.

The teams who have already qualified include:

Group ‘A’: Sailkot, Karachi (W), Hyderabad, Multan, Rawalpindi.

Group ‘B’: Peshawar, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Lahore (W), Abbottabad.

The two semi-final winners of the qualifying round will be placed in the above groups.
