Plagiarism

THIS is with reference to the poem “Boys and girls” by Ayesha Manzoor (YW, August 8, 2015). The poem was copied from a previously published poem in YW on December 27, 2014 by Javeriya Raza — the original writer.

This act of plagiarism is highly unacceptable and I would advise Ms Ayesha that coping someone else’s work is a very bad practice which is actually deceiving one’s self too.

Zombies in my school

THIS is with reference to the story time “Zombies in my school” by Sobia Salman (YW, August 1, 2015). The story was quite interesting as it was on one of my favourite topics — zombies. I liked the idea of the writer, however, I think there should have been some more detail and some more scenes in the story to really capture the imagination of the readers.

Apart from that, the magazine was fantastic, “Back to school DIY tips”, “Spotlight”, “The weekly weird”, “Word of the week” and “Blast from the past”, were all amazing.

II

THE story “Zombies in my school” by Sobia Salman was nicely written and had a good topic. From quite some time, I have noticed that YW is not publishing anything on the ghost, witches or something scary which I am missing the most as I am an ardent fan of horror fiction. So I request the YW team to publish horror stories as well.

Islamabad zoo

I VISITED Islamabad in May when the weather was very hot. When we visited the zoo, we were upset to see that the ducks had no water, the elephant had dirty water while some animals had no shade and some animals seemed hungry.

I asked one of the staffer about the shocking situation there. He told me that earlier some animals had died because of neglect by the zoo management.

Since then, I get sad thinking about the innocent animals there. Animals cannot speak for themselves and they depend upon us and if we are keeping them for our amusement, it is our responsibility to take care of these innocent creatures. So I would like to bring this serious issue to the government’s attention and request them to provide proper facilities to animals in zoos.

Nothing to be ashamed of

THIS is with reference to the story “Nothing to be ashamed of” by Sher Alam Shinwari (YW, June 27, 2015). I really enjoyed reading this wonderful story which had a great lesson for us.

We mostly do not use our old things since we feel ashamed, but there is really nothing to be ashamed of. We think if we use old things we will be underestimated by others. It is also not necessary that every year we buy new stuff like school uniform, bags, bottles, etc., when the ones we have are still in good condition.

Young News

I EAGERLY wait every week for the YW magazine to read new and interesting news in the “Blast from the past”, “The weekly weird”, “Word of the week” and also “Spotlight”. These sections are a bundle of great knowledge and I love reading them.
