QUETTA: The Frontier Corps (FC) has claimed to have killed two militants in an exchange of fire in Wadh area of Khuzdar district on Thursday. A soldier of the paramilitary force was injured.

An FC spokesman claimed in a statement that a leader of the banned Lashkar-i-Balochistan was among the slain militants.

But acting president of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal, Senator Dr Jahanzeb Jamaldini, rejected the claim and said the deceased, Abdul Rahim Dinarzai, was a local leader of his party and had not been involved in any militant activity.

Four sub-machine guns and other weapons were seized on the deceased, FC spokesman said.

At a press conference in Quetta, Senator Jamaldini said his party would observe three-day mourning and hold protest rallies in different areas from Aug 5 to condemn the killing of innocent people in “military operations” in Balochistan.
