HYDERABAD: Activists of PML-N took out rallies in several Sindh towns on Friday to express their delight at the final report of judicial commission which exonerated the ruling party from all charges of organised rigging in general election levelled by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

In Hyderabad, PML-N activists gathered outside the press club after marching on several city roads and distributed sweets among activists and general public to celebrate the report.

PML-N Hyderabad chapter’s president Hanif Siddiqui who led the rally said the report had rejected all allegations levelled by PTI against PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif including the charge of massive and organised rigging in general election 2013 and theft of public mandate.

He said millions of countrymen had great trust in Nawaz Sharif’s tolerant and honest policy, and demanded PTI chairman to tender an apology to Mr Sharif and PML-N activists over tainting the country’s image and damaging national economy through his politics of sit-ins.

In Jacobabad, PML-N workers held a sit-in on the deputy commissioner office road outside the press club after having marched through different roads of the town to celebrate the report.

PML-N Jacobabad chapter’s president Mohammad Akram Abro, general secretary Abdul Ghafoor Kharani and others said the report proved PTI chief’s claims about rigging in general election were fake and cleared PML-N of all charges.

They said Nawaz Sharif did not rig polls rather he took steps to stop rigging. After coming to power, PML-N had restored peace throughout the country, they said.

They said that grossly inefficient Sindh government had plundered all resources of the province. Previous PPP government had broken all records in corruption in all government departments and thereby weakened national economy while Nawaz Sharif’s government had eradicated corruption after coming to power.

After the Sindh ministers had had their fill of massive corruption, their portfolios were changed to give others an opportunity to loot public money, they said.

They demanded stern action against all those involved in corruption.

In Badin, PML-N workers took out rallies in the city and adjoining towns of Matli and Tando Bago to celebrate the report and distributed sweets among general public.

PML-N leaders Ali Ahmed Jokhio, Jan Mohammad Ansari and Shahid Jokhio who led a rally in Badin termed the commission’s report “a slap on the faces of anti-democratic forces”.

Mohammad Ismail Rahu, president of PML-N Sindh chapter, said in a press statement the report was a clear message to all that the party had come to power through genuine public mandate.
