KARACHI: Chief guest Asif Azeem hands winners’ trophy to Hasnain CC skipper as Test leg-spinner Danish Kaneria and others look on.

KARACHI: Hasnain Cricket Club beat Pak Minority Naraish Suriya CC by 28 runs in the final to win Danish Trophy T20 League here at the KGA Gymkhana recently.

Batting first after winning the toss, Hasnain CC scored 143 for eight with Fahad Anjum (48), Mohammad Naeem (30) and Sameer (25) being the main contributors with the bat. Test leg-spinner Danish Kaneria bagged 4-19 in his brilliant spell of four overs.

In reply, the Pak Minority Naraish Suriya CC were bowled out for just 115 in 18.3 overs. Opener Junaid Gul (38) and Kaneria (32) were the leading scorers. For Hasnain CC, Mohammad Saeed bagged five for 15 while Asghar Ahmed captured 2 for 11.

Director Sports DMC South Asif Azeem was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the prizes among the players.

He said his district office was making special efforts to regularly hold club competitions and to promote sports in the metropolis.
