Bollywood has a reputation of churning out at least a 1000 films a year; yet, only a few manage to stand out. The trailer of Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Manjhi — The Mountain Man promises that the film will remain with its audience for a while.

Based on the real-life story of Dashrath Manjhi, a poor labourer who hailed from a small village Gehlor in Bihar, the film tells the tale of how he broke a mountain with a hammer and a chisel to make passage for villagers seeking medical attention. It took Manjhi 22 years to achieve this target, but he didn't falter in his goal as he was driven by the memory of his wife's death because a doctor couldn't reach her.

The trailer shows Siddiqui's transformation from a devoted husband to an obsessed man challenging the mountain; he has indeed done justice to the character.

Siddiqui, who has previously done exemplary work in Gangs of Wasseypur, Kahaani and The Lunchbox, said that it took him one and a half month to detach himself from the role he played.

Directed by Ketan Mehta, Manjhi is slated to released on August 21. Before Manjhi's release, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen with Salman Khan in Bajrangi Bhaijaan on Eid.
