OSLO: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif described on Wednesday the meeting held between Afghan authorities and the Taliban in Murree as a breakthrough and said it was an ‘overt’ and not a ‘covert’ meeting.

Talking to the press, the premier said it was very important as he had also discussed with the Norwegian prime minister that “this process has to succeed”.

Mr Sharif said there could be certain spoilers, but “we should make sure and it is also the obligation of international community, not only Afghanistan, Pakistan and other parties,...that nobody tries to derail this process”.
