KARACHI: A manager of the National Bank of Pakistan was shot dead in Sir Syed Town on Monday evening by robbers on resistance, police said.
Central SSP Muqaddas Haider said Sheikh Nazeeruddin, 50, had gone to meet a friend near UP Mor in a car when two suspects tried to snatch the vehicle’s key from him. As he put up resistance, the suspects fired at him and fled. He sustained critical injuries and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he died during treatment.
Young motor mechanic shot dead
A 22-year-old motor mechanic was shot dead near a village off the Superhighway late Sunday night, police said.
They added that Abdul Razzak was riding a motorcycle when gunmen shot him dead at a close range near Janjar Goth. He sustained a single bullet wound in the chest. The suspects did not take away his mobile phone and other valuables, said Superhighway industrial area SHO Rana Haseeb Ahmed.
He was a resident of Bahadur Goth near Afghan Camp and it was not known why he was going to Janjar Goth at 1:40am. He was a motor mechanic in Gulshan-i-Iqbal.
